Mexican Oaxaca (pronounced Wa-Hoka) hails from the magestic Sierra Madre del Sur mountain range on Mexico’s southwestern coast. Grown at soaring elevations (4,500 feet+ above sea level) under the gentle mist of Pacific air, in nutrient-rich volcanic soil, Oaxaca’s extraordinary coffee plants produce a rich, creamy, balanced cup with notes of sweet orange, caramelized almond, and a soft floral close. Often lauded as one of Mexico’s finest coffee-growing regions, Oaxaca coffee (which accounts for a mere 11% of Mexico’s coffee production) is primarily grown by indigenous people practicing traditional farming on smallholder farms. That means every coffee tree is individually monitored and every coffee cherry is hand-picked to ensure the health of the farm and purity of production. Our Mexican Oaxaca is medium-roasted with excellent aroma and a rich, buttery mouthfeel. Warning: we are unlikely to be able to restock this coffee once it's sold out, so don't wait to repurchase if you love it!
