This lovely, naturally sweet Nicaraguan Matagalpa comes from the Gold Mountain Coffee Growers' partner farm of Maritza and Francisco. These great beans are grown high in the shady canopy of Nicaragua's southwest mountains. Finca Idealista is ideal in many ways -- from its topography to its eco-conscious, sustainable harvest. Gold Mountain Coffee Growers is composed of many family-owned and managed micro-lots. As improbable as it may sound, this smooth, decadent coffee is only one of Gold Mountain's great offerings. To date, Gold Mountain has reinvested in the local community through numerous sustainable development projects, including, providing workers with access to credit and sourcing and providing medical care. They've also invested in the local land by taking over the protection and preservation of a private rainforest nature preserve. Great topography and eco-consciousness provide Gold Mountain a superb foundation for developing top-tier coffees -- it is no surprise they won a stunning 27 medals in coffee competitions in 2019. What sets this farm apart is the purity of transaction, growing integrity, and the meticulous attention to detail each worker brings to their job. Nicaragua Plum Sauce is a wonderful, naturally plum-sweet microlot coffee that offers a pleasing aromatic blend of plum sauce and cranberry. At Mills / QB we roast these gorgeous beans to a rich Vienna shade to preserve their elegant notes of plum sauce, orange, and jasmine honey.
